Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death. Alberta Health Services is committed to helping citizens quit smoking. All Alberta Health Services - Edmonton area—owned facilities and property are smoke-free. All patients in these facilities, who smoke, are offered tobacco cessation medications during their stay and provided information about how to quit or reduce their smoking. Quitting smoking can be hard; the following services can help.

Kic the Nic Program - A Smoking Cessation Program for Teens - available from AADAC
Funded by AADA the program provides grop leaders with training and support to deliver an 8 – 10 week program in the community. It includes:

- quit kits.
