Children's Mental Health Matters: An Essential Part of Primary Care

November 18-19, 2005
The Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel
10155 105th Street
Edmonton, AB

The primary focus of this conference is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), the impact on development and children's mental health. The resource fair and workshops are designed to be educational, practical and interactive, addressing some of the most challenging areas for primary care practice: burden of suffering, access, innovation, and meeting the needs of diverse populations.

The second day of the conference features an 'extra value' workshop targeting clinical strategies for physicians and mental health professionals who are actively diagnosing and treating children with ADHD. This interactive workshop includes diagnostic tools that can be used in the office and advanced treatment approaches.

Conference Objectives

  • Raise awareness of children's mental health;
  • Profile innovative approaches in practice and highlight results achieved;

  • Showcase Capital Health's leadership and commitment to regional and cross regional mental health services for children and youth.
