Independent offices of the HOPE program exist to serve the northern and southern areas of Alberta. The Southern Alberta office is located in Calgary. The Northern Alberta HOPE program is based within the Capital Health region at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Priorities of the HOPE program include:
1) coordination of the donation process;
2) advocating for those who have considered organ donation;
3) bereavement support for families of donors;
4) education on all aspects of organ donation
5) participation in valuable research required to successfully advance the field of organ and tissue transplantation.
6) allocation, recovery and distribution of organs for transplantation for Alberta.
