Parking
Please visit the parking office located on Level 0 (0H1.01) to determine the parking option best for you. Weekly/monthly parking passes are available.
The parking office is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Phone 780-407-8890.
The UAH West Public Parkade is located on 84th Avenue at 112th Street (the entrance is on 84th Avenue).
Disabled parking is located on the 3rd level adjacent to the pedway that leads to the University of Alberta Hospital, Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre, Stollery Children's Hospital, and the University of Alberta Clinical Sciences Building.
The UAH underground public parking is located on "0" level of the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre (entrance off 114 Street).
Disabled parking is located adjacent to the elevator lobby.
Parking meters are in operation 24 hours a day.

Personal belongings/valuables
If possible, leave your personal belongings and valuables at home. Any valuables should be deposited in safekeeping envelopes available from the admitting office or on your unit.
Television/telephone
For television and telephone rentals, please contact your patient care unit to make arrangements or call 780-433-1617.
For the deaf and hard of hearing, a TTY machine is available either from the admitting office, or through the staff on your unit.
Lost and found
To check for missing items, call security at 780-407-8347.
Accessibility services- Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available free-of-charge for in-hospital use only. Look for them at the wheelchair depots at the major entrances to the hospital. The wheelchairs should be returned to one of the depots after they are no longer needed.
Wheelchairs are also available through the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre's Short Term Equipment Loan Program (STELP) on a loan basis for personal use. You can make arrangements by calling 780-413-4990.

Please note that the information desk cannot accept items for delivery.
Newspapers
Volunteers deliver complimentary newspapers to the units depending on volunteer availability. Call the Friends of University of Alberta Hospitals volunteer office at 780-407-8428 to ensure delivery to your room.
Prayer centre
Located on the fifth floor (5H2.06), the prayer centre is a place of quiet available at all times for people of all faiths. Multicultural program coordinators, aboriginal cultural helpers, and staff chaplains are available to make visits to patients and families.
Arrangements can be made through the staff on your unit, or you can call 780-407-8447.
Formal services are held in room 5H2.06 at the following times:
Roman Catholic: Sundays at 11:00 a.m.
Prayer service: Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
Worship: Sundays at 7:00 p.m.
For the deaf and hard of hearing

Language interpretation services
Interpreters speaking many different languages are available to assist you. Arrangements can be made through the staff on your unit.
Security
The security office is located on Level 0 of the hospital (0H1.01). Contact security at 780-407-8347.
Accommodation
Limited accommodation for out-of-region patients being treated at the Cross Cancer Institute, the University of Alberta Hospital, or the Stollery Children's Hospital is available at the Outpatient Residence as well as other nearby community locations.

Visiting hours/age limit
Visitors are welcome from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. unless otherwise specified by each unit. Parents or guardians can visit pediatric patients anytime.
Pharmacy
Located on the main floor across from the snack bar (0H1.32), the pharmacy is open between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Outside the hospital, there is a Shoppers Drug Mart (open 24 hours a day) and a Safeway (open until midnight) at the corner of 109th Street and 82nd Avenue.

Smoking
Smoking is not allowed anywhere on hospital property, including the parkades. Information about quitting smoking.
ATMs
Bank machines are located on the main floor across from the snack bar, at the Level 2 Teahouse, and in the Emergency waiting room. Personal cheques (to a maximum of $40.00 per patient per week) can be cashed through the cashier's office (1H1.80).

Bearyland – the Shop for Kids
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday
Location: 1H1.31 on the main floor, across from the snack bar
Bearyland is operated by the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation
Merchandise: Toys, games, puzzles, stuffed animals, "Bear Wear" and other children's items are available.
The Friends Gift Shop
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday
Location: 1H1.63 on the main floor
Unique gifts, including music, books and toys. Flowers, chocolates and balloons are also available and can be charged by phone at 780-407-6951. The shop also sells Cineplex Odeon discount movie tickets ($9.00 each, price subject to change).
The Friends Gift Shop is operated by Friends of University Hospital volunteers.
