Are your family health physicians taking new clients/patients?
The doctors in family health are not taking new patients at this time. If you need a family doctor, please call Capital Health LINK at 408-LINK (5465) and they will give you the list of doctors who are taking new patients at this time.
Is there a pediatrician on staff?
We do not have a pediatrician in the emergency department. Our Child and Adolescent Service does not provide primary medical care. This service works with children having emotional, behavioral and developmental issues.
Do I need to an appointment before coming down to the centre?
Our emergency department does not make appointments. If you are already a NECHC client and you wish to make an appointment with one of the clinics, please call the clinic during regular business hours.
Is there a female doctor on duty in emergency?
We do have female physicians on staff but since emergency physicians, both male and female, work on a schedule, there is not always a female physician working at the centre.
What are your hours?
The emergency department is open 24 hours each day. Other services and clinics operate at various times between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Community Health Services also offers an evening clinic once a week. No. The Health Resource Centre does not charge for this service to our community residents. The Internet is available for you to look up health or job information and support services.
Can we type up resumes and cover letters on the computers?
Yes, there are two computers in the Health Resource Centre for the public to use.
Do I need to pay to sign out a book or video from the Health Resource Centre?
No. The Health Resource Centre does not charge for this service. However, you are requested to complete a loan sheet to be kept in the Health Resource Centre until you return the borrowed item.
