Lois Hole

Lois Hole Portrait

Lois Hole was a woman of strong character, great vision, and a nurturer to all.  She always saw the bright side of things and her warmth lead others to have hope and potential each and every day.  Since her death in 2005, her legacy has entrenched many lives.  Lois Hole represented what a hospital for women should be and Capital Health is honored to construct a Hospital that will carry on her name.

Quote from Lois Hole
"As you can probably imagine, having this new expansion named after me is a tremendous honour and a great thrill. Because to me, the Royal Alex has long represented the power of hope.
Today, the Royal Alex and the people of Alberta have provided us with a new source of hope, especially for women. Hundreds of Albertans worked very hard to get this project off the ground, and they did so because they wanted to give women from all across western Canada a place where they will receive the very best of care, second-to-none anywhere."

Excerpt from the speech given by The Honourable Dr. Lois E. Hole, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, at the naming of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, Royal Alexandra Hospital, November 16, 2004
