Angiography is an exam that uses an injection of radiopague contrast through a catheter insertion into blood vessels to make blood vessels visible on X-rays. Examinations can be performed on the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities. Angiograms aid the Radiologist in performing diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic procedures. The types of interventional examinations include procedures to repair aneurysms, vascular stent insertions, arterial embolization, coiling aneurysms, venous access and many others.
