The Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CCU) on the fifth floor will open as an eight-bed unit and has the capacity for 16 beds. This adult unit receives patients who are critically ill with a variety of cardiac conditions, such as myocardial infarction, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, pulmonary hypertension, arrhythmias, and conduction disorders. 

Visiting Hours
At the Coronary Care Unit, we work with families to facilitate visiting hours and can accommodate most schedules. Our philosophy on visiting hours is patient focused and family centred.

Location
The existing Coronary Care Unit at the University of Alberta Hospital is located on level five. Please see the Level 5 map for more information. The Coronary Care Unit at the Mazankowski Albert Heart Institute will also be located on level five.

Parking
