In 1996, Capital Health formed the Cardiac Services Program Council to coordinate planning for heart services across all hospital and community sites in the region.
Dr. Arvind Koshal was appointed the Regional Program Clinical Director, and he works with a team of physicians, staff, and a patient representative to achieve that goal.
The Council coordinates work to improve:
- the quality of and access to heart care services
- the integration of heart health and disease prevention, with treatment and rehabilitation following heart disease
- regional service delivery
The Cardiac Sciences Council produces a biannual report outlining key activities and achievements.
