Teaming Up for Tobacco-Free Kids is a campaign spreading across Alberta through schools and communities. It is a multi-layered approach to prevention, aimed at students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 - the age at which attitudes about tobacco use are formed. The campaign combines tobacco education, visits from tobacco-free role models, T-shirts and interactive involvement through a poster contest.
The heart of the program is a Teachers' Resource Kit, which includes complete lesson plans (three per grade level), linked to the Alberta Learning curriculum outcomes and useful resources.
Whether you are an interested parent, community member, youth worker or educator, you can easily use this program in your community and increase the number of tobacco-free kids in Alberta.
