Body Image Non-Electronic Resources

These non-electronic (not computer based) resources are for teachers to support Health and Physical Education Curriculums K-12.

Liking the Me I See in the Mirror - Program
The program contains lesson plans for Kindergarten–Grade 9 and a parent manual.  This is appropriate for both physical and health education curriculum with interactive student activities and handouts, are attempts at helping individuals improve their body image. 

Expecting Respect Peer Education (ER) - Program
This program targets junior and senior high school students. 
Peer education – students educating students with student-led classroom presentations
that affect attitudes, dispel myths and provide, up-to-date information about youth issues.
Topics fit many of the outcomes of the Health and Life Skills Curriculum. 
Topics in junior high include:

  • healthy relationships
  • bullying
  • media awareness
  • tobacco
  • drugs, alcohol, gambling

Body Image Resource Collection – Education Kit
(Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-9 and Grades 10-12)
This kit includes activities, lesson plans, background information and transparencies to address themes such as influence on body image, bullying, discrimination based on appearance and media awareness.
