Crafted by Occupational Therapists (OT), OT On-Hand is a resource for teachers and others who work in educational settings for young children up to grade three. The aim of this dynamic resource is to educate and provide resources (activities, materials, information, strategies) that teachers and other staff can use readily in the school setting.OT On-Hand is made up of three interconnected resources. It is designed so that teachers can help children who struggle with: fine and gross motor skills; attention and focus; organization; activities of daily living. The resource is also designed in such a way so that it appeals to different types of learners, from the "hands-on" to the "surfer".
Each resource addresses a range of topics in a way that best suits the medium. Collectively the resources provide plenty of information, strategies and activities geared for everyday use.
About OT On-Hand Kits: The focus of the kits is on activities to develop fine motor skills needed by children ranging from kindergarten to grade three. The activities focus on pencil grasp and control, written communication, scissor skills and strength. Read more...

About OT in Educational Settings: OT is concerned with children's daily occupations of learning, living and playing.
The OT's primary role in educational settings is to enable participation by:
- developing student's fine and gross motor skills, activities of daily living and attention;
- minimizing barriers to learning by modifying the environment, recommending tools and devices, and adapting learning material;
