The manual covers a range of topics for children in kindergarten to grade three. The topics are arranged into sections. Each topic has an introduction, and may contain one or more of the following headings:

Keys to Success: most important things to keep in mind

Everyday Opportunities: daily natural opportunities found in the classroom that can help with skill development or refinement

Stages of Development: developmental sequence of a particular skill
- Strategies: demonstrations, verbal cues, devices and tools, or environmental
modifications - If You See This: list of concerns that you might see and strategies to manage them
- Resources: list of relevant programs or other references
The OT On-Hand Manual also helps you to organize other print information you receive through workshops either from OTs or via other means. The sections are arranged so that similar information can be placed together in one spot. You can also place information that you find on the internet into the binder, including OT On-Hand updates, revisions or additional information.
The manual is also designed to house the OT On-Hand Kits. Please feel free to add materials you need for a particular kit/s into the pocket to assist with preparation.
