Did you know...motor vehicle collisions are the single leading cause of death and a leading cause of injury to the youth of this province? Every year in Alberta, approximately 400 people are killed and approximately 25,000 suffer injuries as a result of traffic collisions. As a society we suffer incredible economic and social burden when a teen becomes injured or loses his/her life. These deaths and injuries are not accidents. They are predictable and preventable.
In an effort to reduce crash rates among new drivers, the Alberta government introduced the Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) program in May 2003.
