Dr. Cecilia Baxter is a general pediatrician and a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. She also is the mother of two adopted children. Dr. Baxter offers pre-adoption counseling and post-adoption assessments at the adoption clinic.
The Edmonton Adoption Clinic is part of the Stollery Children's Hospital in the Child Health Ambulatory Clinic at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Site. The clinic team consists of Dr. Baxter, secretarial support staff, nurses, an occupational therapist and a social worker. Subspecialty referrals for medical, nutritional, and adjustment issues are available as needed.
