I have a friend who resides outside of Canada.  My friend is interested in moving to Edmonton; what do they need to do to work here?

If your friend is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, he or she will need a valid work permit to work in Canada. Capital Health currently has approvals in place to hire foreign Registered Nurses but other professions would require an application for a Labour Market Opinion to support the work permit application. To qualify for an offer of employment, candidates must demonstrate eligibility for registration with the appropriate licensing body. An approved medical examination is required to work in the health system. Other conditions may apply as well.  more...
