Our innovative mental health program includes all mental health and crisis services. We offer a wide range of community-based programs designed to help adults, seniors and children regain their mental health or cope with diseases such as schizophrenia and depression. The programs are closely linked to our acute care services and numerous related community agencies.
Who's Who
Nancy Fraser is the Senior Operating Officer for Alberta Health Services - Edmonton and Area Regional Mental Health Program (RMHP). Dr. P.J. White is our Regional Clinical Program Director. The Regional Mental Health Program reports to Louise Bradley, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Mental Health.
Mental health services in the community are provided through Community Mental Health Clinics.

The Program is designed to promote, preserve and restore the mental health of the people served by Alberta Health Services - Capital Health. We have a variety of positions available through all aspects of our program.
We focus on four major areas of mental health, covering the entire lifespan:

In addition to offering specialized mental health care services in hospital settings, the Program (which includes Alberta Hospital Edmonton) is a centre for tertiary care to residents of the Alberta Health Services - Edmonton and Area, northern Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon. And building on our in-patient programs, Alberta Health Services has extensive community-based treatment options, with a variety of programs and services allowing clients to live their best lives in their community.

Alberta Health Services - Edmonton and Area's Regional Mental Health Program Roadmap to the Future
The Roadmap to the Future is a careful and thorough response to the mental health needs of children, adolescents, adults and seniors, including Aboriginal populations in the region. The plan builds upon three key areas identified in the Provincial Mental Health Plan:
- Collaboration
- Suicide
- Children
The plan builds upon the strong foundation of the January 2005 plan and outlines implementation of key actions over a three-year period. It demonstrates the many partnerships that currently exist, as well as opportunities for further linkages.
